Performing this calibration ensures your measurements remain consistent and traceable.
Making Measurements
Flat Surfaces
When measuring flat parts:
- Place the unit in the cradle
- Adjust height until the stylus contacts the surface
- Press the green button twice to start the trace
- View Ra, Rz, and other metrics directly on-screen
Round Parts
For cylindrical components:
- Flip the unit upside down
- Lay the part in the built-in V-groove on the base
- Use the raised pads to protect control buttons
- Run the trace with the stylus pointing upward
