Professional laser calibration, ballbar calibration, and certification by experienced technicians for your precision machine tools
If you want your machinery to perform to its highest potential, you should consider laser and ballbar calibration alignment. Laser calibration and ballbar analysis will improve the performance of your machine tool, product quality and boost your bottom line. We have 20 years of combined experience in CNC laser calibration, CNC ballbar analysis and CNC machine spindle analysis.
Laser Calibration
Laser calibration should be performed after any major mechanical work is done to a machine's axis, such as replacement of ballscrews or thrust bearings. Our Optodyne laser measures positioning error and allows our technicians to set compensation in the control and determine if repairs are needed and can be done without tearing down most existing setups.
Ballbar Analysis
Ballbar analysis is one of the best tools to determine your machine tool's mechanical and servo performance and allows comparisons with other machines in your facility. It allows error sources such as backlash, reversal spikes, lateral play, squareness, straightness, scaling mismatch, and servo tuning discrepancies to be pinpointed, quantified, and reduced or eliminated, resulting in better accuracy in circular interpolation. Ballbar analysis can be performed in all planes of motion (XY, YZ, and XZ) if required.
Certification
We include before-and-after graphs for all laser calibration and ballbar analysis we perform. If needed, we can also provide NMTBA, ISO, VDI, and/ or ASME analysis.
